2nd Lt Charles A. Schwab graduated from Williamsville High School and attended the University of Pharmacy of Buffalo for two years.He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Buffalo, New York on 22 July 1942.
The aircraft was hit by flak over the target, setting the right wing on fire. It was observed going into a spin and exploding.
Three crew members were taken prisoner, six men were killed.
