S/Sgt Jasper Gallegos was a miner.He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 5 September 1942 in Pueblo, Colorado.
The aircraft was seen to go down after being attacked by two FW-190's.
One crew member survived and was taken prisoner, nine men were killed.
