2nd Lt Thomas V. Nash graduated from Brown University star. Being a small man, he played college football and was exceptionally fast.

The coach built a special end-round play for him, and he scored frequently on it. He also was an adept pass receiver.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Boston, Massachusetts on 20 December 1941.

The plane was damaged by flak and fighters.

He was initially buried with military honors at the cemetery of Vries on 31 August 1943.

Seven crew members were killed, three evaded capture.
