Harry L. Dent attended high school for 4 years and was a typist. He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army at Fort Benning, Georgia on 16 June 1941.

The plane was damaged by flak and fighters.

He was initially buried with military honors at the cemetery of Vries on 31 August 1943.

Seven crew members were killed, three evaded capture.
