Capt Dean H. Dalton graduated from Pittsburg (Kansas) High School and the University of Kansas.Enlisted in the USAAF in August 1940 as Aviation Cadet. From April 1943 he worked as Flight Commander and Operations Officer in England. He got married to Betty in January 1942.
The ship lagged the formation due to flak damage sustained over the target, and fell victim to intense enemy fighter attack. The ship blew up shortly after it took a direct hit in the bomb bay. 4 Members survived and became prisoner of war in Stalag Luft 1 and Stalag 17B.
