Inducted on June 26, Pvt Blaszkowski trained at Camp Blanding, Fla., came home on furlough in November and went overseas from Fort Meade, Md., in December. He served in France, Belgium and Germany. At Camp Blanding he received a rifleman's medal. Pvt Blaszkowski was active in athletics at Nicolet High School, West De Pere, from which he graduated in May 1944. He won several letters in football and basketball there and played with the teams when they oppposed Green Bay schools.
