More information

Pfc James P. Connors was employed by the Tri-Lok Company in Pittsburgh before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 13 October 1942.

He was awarded the Silver Star posthumously for gallantry in action. He was leading a squad through a wood. Instead of sending a member of his squad out in the front he himself took the lead. After knocking out two machine gun nests and a sniper, he was detected by a third machine gun crew and killed.

Two of his brothers, John and Terrence, also served during the war.
