William Peel was a graduate of the Clayton High School.Cpl William H. Peel was employed at the Joseph Bancroft and Sons Company before he enlisted in the Army on 15 April 1942 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. After his enlistment he served as a cook at several camps. Later he transferred to the infantry and went overseas in February 1945.
He was killed in action east of the Rhine in Germany during the war. He had served in the Army for two years and eleven months at the time of his death.
