T/5 Hugo P. Carley married Madeline Rose Schreiner on 10 September 1941 in Plain, Sauk County, Wisconsin.He enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 9 October 1942 and received his training at Fort Riley, Kansas and Camp Polk, Louisiana.
He died of wounds in the thorax and abdomen caused by artillery blast effects.
