S/Sgt Loebert G Catter attended Wichita High School and the University of Texas before he worked as a shipping clerk at a book publishing company.The airplane was hit in the #2 engine by German fighters during the bomb run. It fell back and out of formation and feathered the propeller. It kept losing altitude. Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner. Four men were killed.
