More information

James C. Mc Goldrick was a student at Notre Dame University and would have graduated with the class of 1943.

He enlisted in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 12 August 1942. He was sent overseas in May 1943.
The airplane was shot down by flak and German fighters. Eight crew members survived and were taken prisoner, two men were killed.

According to witnesses S/Sgt Mc Goldrick bailed out at about 3000 meters but his parachutes failed to open.

He was initially buried at the community cemetery of Kesseling, Germany.
