T/4 Robert F. Johnston attended high school for one year and was a fireman before he enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 26 March 1942.He was officially declared dead one year and one day after he was reported missing in action. At that time his unit was fighting in the vicinity of Mühlhausen. His remains were never recovered.
