Pvt George R. Connor enlisted in 1943.He died from a severe head wound on a bitterly cold, snowy day during a German counterattack, which was preceded by a devastating artillery barrage. The Germans did not break through, but the losses were big. B Company suffered its greatest one-day loss ever: thirteen men were killed, twelve were wounded, and sixteen went missing.
