Pfc Harold D. Walters graduated from Monroe Township High School in 1942 and was employed at the Ireland Manufacturing Company before he enlisted in Columbus, Ohio on 18 February 1943.

He died on 10 October at a result of wounds sustained in France on 29 September 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Saint-Juan, France.

He is remembered at the Twin Valley Cemetery in Gratis, Preble, Ohio.
