Capt John H. Eisenberg graduated from Amarillo High School and attended the University of Texas and was a salesman.

He joined the National Guard in Amarillo, Texas on 25 November 1940 and was sent overseas in April 1943.

He saw action in North Africa, at Salerno, Monte Cassino, Rapido, Rome and landed with his unit in Southern France.

He was officially declared dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
