Pvt Lloyd H. Spitz was a shipping and receiving clerk before he enlisted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 14 October 1943.

He was killed by small arms fire in his back.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Saint-Juan, France.
