Pfc Gordon L. Massey was a farmer before he enlisted at Fort McPherson, Georgia on 7 November 1942.He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Saint-Juan, France.
He is remembered on a plaquette at the city hall of Remiremont.
