S/Sgt Julius E. Condron graduated from Argentine High School.

The Air/Sea Rescue boat was misidentified as a Nazi patrol boat and destroyed by two P47 pilots from the 356th FG. Eleven of the thirteen crewmen were killed and another lost his leg. Though a different P47 pilot witnessed 5 or 6 (conflicting reports) men exit the B17 none were rescued or ever found.

He is remembered at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
