Statement in MACR: "This aircraft was observed to be hit by flak in the target area. Two engines were on fire and the aircraft was seen descending rapidly in the target area before rally point, apparently however, going down under control. As the formation drew away from the distressed aircraft the fire in one engine was seen to go out. No chutes were observed and no further information is available."
