S/Sgt Stanley A. Wright attended high school for four years.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 5 June 1942 at Fort Hayes, Ohio.

The airplane was attacked by German fighters, causing severe damage at multiple areas and setting #2 and #3 engine on fire.

Eight crew members bailed out and survived. Two men went down with the plane and were killed.
