Burnice Farmer graduated from Bailey High School and attended Atlantic Christian College.

He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army in Charlotte, North Carolina on 15 October 1941.

He was credited from downing a FW-190 in early January 1943.

The airplane was attacked by enemy fighters. It crashed just off shore of Tossens, Germany. Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner. Five men were killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of Bad Zwischenahn, Germany.
