William Wayenberg attended high school for four years and was a mechanic.

He enlisted in Tacoma, Washington on 4 March 1941.

The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters. Nine crew members were killed and were buried initially on Lingwedel Cemetery, Germany on 31 March 1944. Only Sgt Jerome J. Heimer survived and was taken prisoner.
