Walter S. Dozkuse graduated from Bound Brook High School for four years and was a machine operator at the Columbia Aircraft Company.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 11 June 1942.

His parents were Polish immigrants.

The aircraft was shot down by flak. Three crew members were killed, seven men survived and were taken prisoner.
