Pfc George E. Widing graduated from Urbana High School in 1942 and attended college for one year.He enlisted in Peoria, Illinois on 25 January 1943. He was in the ASTP at University of Missouri before being transferred to active duty. He went overseas in August 1944 and died in a POW camp.
He was first buried at Block K, Row 1, Grave 3.
