Pvt Armando A. Rauso graduated from Yonkers High School and was a driver for Frank's Food Market.

He enlisted in New York City, New York, on 11 December 1942. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied engineering at the University of Mississippi.

The Yonkers American Veterans Post #40 was named in his honor.
