Cpl Lloyd R. Smith graduated from Bloomfield High School and was employed by Baker & Co. in Newark.He enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 8 December 1942 and was sent overseas in August 1944.
His two brothers also served during the war, Edward in Europa and Robert in the Pacific.
