Pfc Norman J. Meyer joined the National Guard in Sparta, Wisconsin on 15 October 1940. After his discharge in November 1941, he was called up one year later. He was sent overseas in June 1944.His brother Robert served with the U.S. Navy in the Philippines and his brother John was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida at the time of his death.
