2nd Lt Rollin P. Ball attended St. John’s College, where he was on the football team.He worked for the Atlantic Refining Company when he volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Baltimore, Maryland on 20 March 1942. In November 1942, he received his commission, having graduated on 14 November 1942 from the AAF Navigation School in Monroe, Louisiana.
The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters. The entire crew of ten men was killed.
He is remembered at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
