S/Sgt Robert W. Cole graduated from Beverley High School in 1941.He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Boston, Massachusetts on 25 October 1941.
The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters. The entire crew of ten men was killed.
He is remembered at North Beverly Cemetery, Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts
