S/Sgt Edward F. Simon was an architect.He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 1 July 1941.
A/C 42-29998 was shot down by enemy aircraft. Of the 10 men crew only 2 survived and were taken prisoner.
S/Sgt Simon was initially buried at the City Cemetery of Bocholt on 25 June 1943.
