Pvt Thomas Swinscoe enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 16 October 1943.On his grave marker at Luxembourg Cemetery is engraved that he served in the 31st Infantry battalion. This is an error.
ABMC was notified of this error and wrote te following:
Unfortunately the ABMC Register and burial card shows the same mistake.
We have an interim policy in place limiting headstone change requests to primary next of kin. We are in the process of developing a permanent policy and I will hold this information for a decision when we have a permanent policy in place.
