Pfc Richard R. Miller graduated from Mason City High School in 1943.He enlisted at Camp Dodge Herrold, Iowa on 15 October 1943. He was sent overseas in November 1944.
He died as a result of wounds received in action two days earlier.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
Pfc Miller is remembered at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa with a memorial marker.
