2nd Lt Leslie H. Telesca joined the National Guard in Oneida, New York on 15 October 1940. He served in the infantry in Hawaii for over two years before returning to attend OCS at Fort Benning. He received paratrooper training at Camp Mackall in Tennessee and was sent overseas in August 1944.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.
