Pfc Garold D. Tidball Garold was hit by shrapnel and killed instantly on his first day of battle.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Grand Failly, France.

He is remembered at the Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado, Butler County, Kansas.
