Pvt Donald H. Metz graduated from Nazareth High School with the class of 1939 and was employed by the Nazareth Waist Mill before he enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 27 March 1944. He was sent overseas in September 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his chest.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
