Pfc Richard C. Johnson attended Benjamin Franklin High School for four years and was employed at the Atlantic Refining Company before he enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 9 February 1943. He was sent overseas in May 1944.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
