T/Sgt Philip G. Blair graduated from Utah Agricultural College and was employed as a field man for the California Packing Corporation before he enlisted at Fort Douglas, Utah on 9 February 1942. He went overseas in April 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his back.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
