Pfc Clarence Freitas attended high school for one year and worked on his own farm before he enlisted in Fresno, California on 30 October 1943.He was killed by a sniper when his squad was attempting to clear a village of the enemy.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
