S/Sgt John A. Delaney Jr. worked in a garage as a car washer and greaser before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 17 July 1942.The airplane was last seen with n° 4 engine smoking and a 20 mm hole in the right elevator, under control and heading for Denmark.
S/Sgt Delaney didn't bail out. He was hit several times in the leg.
He was initially buried at the cemetery of Leck, Germany on 13 October 1943. He was disinterred on 27 May 1946 and transported to Ardennes Cemetery as Unknown X-876 where he was given his final resting place on 24 April 1950.
