Theodore Knapp graduated from Temvik High School in 1941 and was employed at the Kaiser shipyard before he enlisted in April 1943.

The plane exploded after being attacked by several enemy aircraft.

S/Sgt Knapp was first buried at the Cemetery of Honor at Koethen.

It was the crew's 24th mission.
