T/Sgt Stephen Kogut graduated from East High School and was employed at the Wurlitzer Company.

He enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 18 April 1942.
The aircraft was first hit by flak over the target and then hit by enemy aircraft.

It is assumed the entire crew of nine men was killed. Three men are commemorated at the Tablets of the Missing at Henri-Chapelle, seven men are commemorated at the Tablets of the Missing at Cambridge Cemetery.

The official date of death is 10 September 1945 for all crew members. The reason is not known.
