More information

Pvt Robert J. Thompson enlisted at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, on 7 March 1944.

Robert was a happy-go-lucky fellow who always had a smile on his face. He had a great sense of humor, was very unselfish, and enjoyed meeting people. He worked in a government industry and would not have had to join in service during WWII, but opted to because his five brothers had enlisted. His parents had fourteen children: Ten boys and four girls. Robert had a wife and two sons.

His brother Ralph is buried at Plot H, Row 12, Grave 1. Ralph and Robert were killed within a few weeks of each other.
