Pvt Ralph R. Thompson was a very serious person and always had some type of money-making idea. He had just finished high school and was attending college at night when he was drafted. He was 18 years old and only had a weekend pass before he went to Europe. His parents had fourteen children: Ten boys and four girls. Six brothers were in the service during WWII.

His brother Robert is buried at Plot H, Row 12, Grave 2. Ralph and Robert were killed within a few weeks of each other.
