Pvt Joseph A. Ford enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 30 April 1943.C Company had early in the morning of 21 January layed a barbed wire fence south of Bischwiller, when an estimated 150 British Mark 5 anti-tank mines exploded. Pvt Ford and seven other men lost their lives and another eight were wounded.
