Pvt Chester A. Regen enlisted in New York City, New York, on 1 September 1943.Together with three other crew members, Pvt Regen was killed when an enemy anti-tank rocket hit the turret of their tank. One of the other killed crew members, Thomas Mastromonaco, is also buried at Margraten. One other crew member was wounded.
