Kenneth Deal attended Normandy High School in St. Louis, Missouri.He had been adopted by Frank and Golden Bittner. Sources are not in agreement when it comes to his year of birth, with one suggesting it may have been 1921.
T/4 Kenneth A. Deal was awarded the Silver Star Medal for salvaging a tank in France under enemy fire.
