Lt Joseph B. Onorato graduated from Flushing High School and attended Fordham University.He enlisted at Camp Upton, New York on 18 August 1941.
The airplane was hit by flak and ditched in the estuary of Jadebusen, Germany.
Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner, five men were killed.
