Nathan Douglas attended high school for four years and was an accountant.

He joined the U.S. Army reserve in Atlanta, Georgia on 24 November 1942.

The airplane collided with A/C 44-6593 while making S-turns to lose time. It went down, out of control, in a steep dive. The entire crew of nine men was killed.

Sgt Douglas is remembered at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia.
