Robert B. Igo attended college and was an architect.

He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on 6 November 1941. He trained at Maxwell Field, Alabama and received wings in Columbus, Mississippi in July 1942. He was sent overseas in October 1942.

The airplane was hit by flak and ditched in the estuary of Jadebusen, Germany.

Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner, five men were killed.

One of the pictures was taken in 1937.
