Pvt Gabriel C. Bethel enlisted in Louisville, Kentucky on 12 October 1943. He was a chauffeur.He joined his unit from a replacement battalion on 14 August 1944.
His remains were found in the woods near Gey, Germany by a German civilian on 22 May 1946. He had suffered a shot wound in the chest.
He was first buried at Ardennes in a temporary grave on 28 May 1946. He was disinterred on 23 November 1948 and his remains were prepared and placed in in casket on 15 December 1948. He was given his final resting place in September 1949.
